Now superseded by this post here.
Hi everyone! We’ve come up with a coronavirus policy, in the hopes we won’t need it, but so we’re prepared if we do! As you probably know, our government aren’t yet advising that people stop going out or that we stop organising events, and unless that changes we’ll be aiming to carry on as usual, though perhaps without quite as much physical contact in scenes…
Our current state
We are running all of our drop-ins, workshops, shows, and courses as normal. We are liaising closely with our venues (Malt Cross, Nonsuch Studios, Nottingham Playhouse) to ensure that we have access to our regular spaces, and will update everyone if events are delayed or cancelled. If advice changes, we’ll announce any cancellations / delays on our website, Facebook page, MissImp Members group, and Twitter.
Stay informed
Keep an eye on the official NHS guidelines, and call 111 if you think you may have contracted it! https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
In particular, we want to highlight the section on preventing the spread of infection, which is something we can all do:
- wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
- always wash your hands when you get home or into work (or y’know, a drop-in or course session!)
- use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
- cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
- put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
- try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
If you’re unwell
As with regular cold or flu, we strongly discourage people who are feeling unwell from coming to MissImp events, to prevent more vulnerable members of our community from being at risk.
Courses
If you are signed up to a course and are taken unwell, please let us know ASAP, and we’ll work to ensure you can continue the course later. Ideally, we’ll avoid cancelling courses entirely, and just delay them until any restrictions are lifted. Hopefully, that would mean the group can continue as before. If this doesn’t suit any individuals on the course, we’ll seek to move them to another course.
Just to reiterate – there are no plans to cancel any shows or events affiliated with MissImp, but we wanted to reassure everyone that there is a contingency plan in place! If you have any questions or concerns at all, please email contact@missimp.co.uk
