This week’s drop-in: Conflict Negotiation
Brought to you by Ben.
Do you ever find that you end up arguing in improv scenes? Perhaps you keep finding yourself in a one-upmanship contest with other players? Maybe you find your scenes feel like they follow the same road map. If this is true then you have conflict problems! Conflict is important in scenes because it is often what drives the action forward. However, conflict doesn’t just mean characters arguing. Conflict can come from the environment, society, gods or even inside characters themselves.
This week we’re going to look at how we can keep our characters struggling to overcome obstacles, without getting into fights with each other. We’ll do this through some specific types of conflict that are fun to see on stage, including character vs Nature, vs Technology and more!
