“Fertile Narrative Soil”, with Duncan
Do often find yourself simply surviving your scenes? Flailing? Floundering? Asking yourself “Why do other people not have this problem? Do they have it all figured out?” Of course not! (Sounds too much like planning to me…)
What they do instead is plant their stories in fertile narrative soil and give them room to grow! They play characters with drive and agency. They create landscapes worth exploring. They create tools they don’t know how to use yet. They call in favours their past selves gave them.
This week we will be using techniques from narrative improv to both create a foundation built for longevity and to revitalise our scene if it does eventually run out of steam.
