Are you a comedy writer? Want to be? Come along to our monthly writing drop-ins to create, share and develop new comedy writing.

These laid-back Sunday afternoons are the perfect place to share sketches, comedy characters and sitcom ideas that you have created, in a supportive group environment. As well as trying out new ideas, we also look at classic scenes, talk about techniques and collaborate to create work together.

This is a low-pressure setting where you can experiment with stage comedy and meet comedians and writers from around the East Midlands. No matter what your experience, you can jump right in. Whether you are looking to try something new with your writing, have one idea you can’t get out of your head or are aiming to write professionally this is the drop-in for you.

Each drop-in has plenty of time for people to showcase their ideas and get helpful feedback if they want it. Just bring along a script or idea. While we love all forms of comedy, these drop-ins are aimed specifically at supporting more alternative styles like sketch and narrative. This is a writers’ drop in so we recommend having something you can write with whether that is paper and pen, laptop or even just your phone’s note-taking app.
