“Improv Time Machine”, with Duncan
This week we are going to be doing scenes set in different time periods because it presents an interesting performance challenge. Our characters will be grounded and yet unfamiliar, we’ll be in diverse locations both physically and temporally and what we do in our scenes will be dictated by the technology and sensibilities of the time. We’ll have a different collection of references to consider and of course, we can get a bit meta with the power of hindsight (or is it foresight?). History has a wealth of potential for our scenes that we so rarely tap into but don’t worry if you’re not an avid historian, everyone will be throwing in their favourite history facts, it’ll be like an episode of Horrible Histories. So come along and have a good old time, there’s no time like the present.

We’ve run a weekly drop-in workshop for improvised comedy in Nottingham since 2005! Come and check it out – everyone’s welcome to join the fun.
The perfect intimate opportunity to practice some of our favourite improv games, and stretch out those improvising muscles. Each week features training in a different set of skills, exercises, scenes, or games, facilitated by various members of the Nottingham improv community.
- 18+, and suitable for all levels of experience, with an emphasis on having a good time and improving everyone’s improvising experience.
