The Colin Barnfather Memorial Scholarship
Take advantage of MissImp’s scholarship programme!
Our mission is to promote, teach, and perform improvised comedy. We have been part of Nottingham’s cultural landscape since 1998, and always seek to increase the diversity of our community because inclusion and diversity adds depth and beauty to all aspects of life, and improv is no different.
We know it can be difficult to attend training and development opportunities for many different reasons, and we want to do what we can to improve access to quality improv training for everyone, irrespective of racial identity, ethnic identity, sexual orientation, income, gender identity, and ability.
We wish to award up to two places on selected improvised comedy courses to eligible individuals, offering either a free place on a course, or a contribution towards the course fee.
To apply for a scholarship, please note the deadlines on the course pages themselves and complete the form below, which asks you to describe how you meet our criteria, and how you intend to use the learning to benefit the Nottingham artistic community. You’ll need to be at least 18 years old and able to attend the courses as advertised.
Successful applicants to the scholarship programme will either be awarded a free place on the course (if applying before the course’s stated scholarship deadline) or offered a contribution towards the course fee (if applying after the scholarship deadline).
A condition of accepting the scholarship is that successful applicants write a blog post for our website about their experience of improvisation and how they intend to use it in their future artistic endeavours.
Please ensure your contact details are correct, and in particular look out for a confirmation email about your application from contact@missimp.co.uk – remember to check your spam filters. We cannot check your email – it’s up to you to ensure that we can contact you. If don’t hear from us, please contact us.
