Weekly Improv Drop-In: Once Upon a Time Thursday 16 June 2022

Nick

This week is hosted by Nick Tyler

Once Upon a Time

Improv theatre is about creating stories, and we have a bunch of games which are even more specifically aimed at telling stories. They all require characters, settings and action. By practicing telling stories that include those things, we can get better at telling stories in scenes that have those characteristics too. This week we’re gonna be playing Story Story Die, Word at a Time Story, Insert Word Here, Anecdote, Dear Diary and games like them. Join us!

MissImp’s Weekly Improv Drop-In

We’ve run a weekly drop-in workshop for improvised comedy in Nottingham since 2005! Come and check it out – everyone’s welcome to join the fun.

The perfect intimate opportunity to practice some of our favourite improv games, and stretch out those improvising muscles. Each week features training in a different set of skills, exercises, scenes, or games, facilitated by various members of the Nottingham improv community.

    • 18+, and suitable for all levels of experience, with an emphasis on having a good time and improving everyone’s improvising experience.
    • Please note that Malt Cross’ elevator is temporarily out of order, so we cannot get wheelchair access to the lower floor where our workshop space is.
    • Safety: Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or cannot meet our safety requirements, especially if you’re experiencing any coronavirus symptoms.
    • MissImp’s code of conduct for participants applies to this event.

Hi There!

During the coronavirus outbreak, MissImp has continued to offer entirely free online activities for our community, including commissioning an ongoing series of paid virtual drop-ins from improvisers around the world, fortnightly online Gorilla Burger shows and more. If you’d like to help us keep these activities going and keep our lights on we’d be immensely grateful. Together, we can get through this.
